Instructions
As referenced in the module overview, there is a funded research opportunity for those completing this module in the Winter of 2022.
The purpose of this grant is to highlight instructor led action research projects and provide $600 for those completing and presenting projects. There is funding for fifteen instructor led projects.
About the Project
Once you have completed the action research module, you can submit a proposal for a research project of your design to be ran during Spring 2022.
For your submission, you will be asked to use IR's action research template to guide your proposal:
This proposal should provide us with a strong outline for what you want to accomplish and how. There are no character limits. After beginning your submission, you have an unlimited amount of time to complete and can re-submit if problems arise. Please reach out to your Dean after completing your proposal but prior to submitting to ensure that you have their support and are able to complete the work as outlined. They can contact nicholas.o.taylor@ccs.spokane.edu with any questions for the committee. You will be required to attest to having received your Deans support before your proposal will be accepted.
Your proposal will then be sent to the grant committee for review. Using the information provided in the submission we will reach out to you for next steps. You may be asked to make edits or revisions for acceptance so make sure to submit early enough that you will have time to plan for those changes if necessary. All proposals accepted by the committee will be sent to your Dean and the VPI of your campus (SCC or SFCC) for final approval.
Submissions will close on March 11th, 2022 to ensure there is enough time for the committee to review and for instructors to prepare their projects for Spring.
If accepted, you will be paired with a representative from IR who will act as a mentor during your project.
Once you have been accepted, request approval from the IRB office if you haven't already done so and prepare the materials needed for your research. This includes, handouts, communications, outlines, and any other important documents or procedures.
During Spring quarter you will run your project. Following completion of your research, you will be invited to present your findings at the 2022 eLearning Academy, which will complete the requirements for receiving the grant.
If your project runs on a different timeline make sure to discuss that in your proposal so that we can adjust your final presentation.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to nick.taylor@ccs.spokane.edu for more details.
