Instructions

Purpose

A goal of this module is to develop a more welcoming environment for instructor led research as well as provide an additional professional development tool for instructors to use when revising or designing their courses. To get you thinking about next steps for using this content, we have created a short self-reflection.

This self-reflection aligns with our module objectives:

  1. Define action research as it relates to education
  2. Contrast action research with traditional research
  3. Identify a classroom problem to explore through action research

Task

This self-reflection is in the form of a short Canvas Quiz. There will be one reflection question to summarize your interaction with this module, as well as a few survey questions to help us improve the quality of these modules in the future.

Criteria

Your reflection will be graded on completion. Feedback will be given as necessary. You will know you have gotten the most out of this learning module if you feel confident with the process of designing an action research project, as well as have already begun to brainstorm ways to use action research in your own classroom to further your own development, or as a framework to ask important questions.

This self-reflection is required to receive the $75 stipend for completing the module.

After completing this self-reflection, you are also eligible for the action research grant opportunity. You can find out more on the proposal submission page.
