Faculty Project: Brianna Khetlyr, HSS Module

(This page is available as a whole module - it has been compressed to one page to save space).

Welcome Holistic Student Supports

We learn as whole people. To learn effectively you must have basic security: a roof over your head, a safe place to sleep, enough food to eat. If you’re having trouble with any of those things, please talk with me. The faculty and staff on campus are here to help.

This module is here to help you learn about all of the available resources for SCC students.  Following this page, will be a page for each subsection of services.

If you need help with any of these things and don't feel comfortable reaching out or you are not sure which service could best help you, please fill out an Early Alert contact form.  Someone will then help you connect with the services that best fit your needs.

For our students to succeed, we realize basic needs must first be met. The SCC Cares Food Pantry and Resource Center is here to assist students who need food and hygiene assistance, free of charge.

We understand that circumstances can change at any moment, which is why we also provide resource information to individuals struggling to make ends meet.  At the following link, you can place an order online for the food pantry, get more information, and find other local resources:

Disability

We recognize disability as a valued part of diversity. We help students with disabilities receive equal access to Spokane Community College (SCC) programs and services. Our staff also helps create environments where students feel welcome and included.

Disability is a natural part of humanity.
Disability is vital to the development of communities.
Disability is a social/political category that includes individuals from many different backgrounds.
Equal access cannot be achieved through accommodation alone.
Design that promotes inclusion is a matter of social justice and civil rights.
Helping individuals requires creativity.
