Effectively Facilitating Collaboration - A Panel Discussion
Effective Facilitation
Facilitation Strategies
The next item in the module is a recorded panel discussion with teachers from high school, two-, and four-year colleges. All were involved with facilitating cross-sector collaborations, and they discuss specific strategies to support these partnerships.
These kinds of partnerships require intentional leadership to maximize the group's potential to reach success.
The following three short videos capture ideas from four cross-sector project leaders with experience in multiple projects, and they share their insights into how to manage people from a variety of backgrounds and lead teams toward effective collaboration.

Discussion
Part I includes the panelist introductions as well as their responses to two questions:
- What makes these types of collaborations work well? What are best approaches to leading and structuring them?
- What specific skills do facilitators need to help these projects meet their full potential?
Part II addresses this question:
- Who benefits from this work?
Part III wraps up this discussion with coverage of the following questions:
- What are the challenges of doing these kinds of collaborations?
- Any additional suggestions do you have to others who lead these kinds of projects?
You are welcome to contact our panelists if you have follow up questions for them.
