Creating an outline is a pre-writing activity. It helps you put all of your ideas in order. It shows what you are going to include in your writing. Don't use complete sentences in an outline (except for your topic sentence and conclusion). Don't include all of the details.
When you write an outline: Start with the introduction. The introduction is where you state your topic.
Then, list your main points. Try to have at least three (3). Under each main point, include details that support or explain your point.
At the end, write a conclusion that summarizes or repeats the main points of your presentation (what you said).
If you take the time to make a good outline, it makes writing your draft easier. Also, creating an outline first will make your presentation more effective because it will be easier to follow.
