Class Competition: Finish the blues stanza and possibly earn bonus points.

I once attended a party with several blues guitarists sitting in a circle. They all played the same blues chord progression. One singer began by improvising and singing one clause of a blues line. The musician next to him had to complete the line on the spot. The musician who came up with the best responses over the evening won the competition.

Let's try a version of this blues party game. I'll give you a clause. Then you have to complete the stanza. I will select 3 winners based on how well they conform to the blues form, which you already followed in writing your own stanza for the required assignment. Also, I will look for humor and wit.

Good luck! Here is the clause. Fill in the blanks to complete the entire stanza, following the rhyme scheme and appropriate use of simile or metaphor. 1st place will receive 15 bonus points; 2nd place, 10 points; 3rd place, 7 points.

If the submissions are not up to the quality I am hoping for, I may not award any points.
