This 10 week fully online class begins September 20th, 2023

Dr. Scully
Dr. Dana Scully, MD

Hello! It is great to have you here with me. My name is Dana Scully and I have been working as a Forensic Pathologist for the past 3 decades and bring my experience in the field as well as my time spent as an instructor at the FBI academy at Quantico. Throughout my career I have had the amazing opportunity to see some of the wildest and most interesting cases that this field has to offer and am excited to share those stories with you as we explore Forensic Pathology together. After spending so much time in the field it is great to return to the classroom and be part of your educational journey. If you want to learn a little bit more about me you can watch this short video, otherwise feel free to get started reading through this page to get an idea of what is coming up in week one of our course.

I'll see you online!

How This Course Works

  • This is an 10-week, fully online course that begins on September 20th, 2023.

  • This class does not meet in Zoom. Your learning will be conducted asynchronously (which means "not live") in Canvas.

  • There is no required textbook. All of your required readings will be included in our course modules in Canvas.

  • Interacting with your classmates during a course can help improve your own success. As such, This is not a self-paced course. The timing of materials and conversations with your peers throughout each of our weekly modules has been designed to help you manage all the information from our lessons and classwork. If you ever need help managing how to learn in this class please feel free to reach out! I work with students all the time to help work through the pacing of this course and the life that happen outside of it.

  • This class is organized into one-week modules that open each Tuesday morning.

  • Each module contains readings and videos, a study guide, a quiz, and collaborative activities. All materials in Canvas will have detailed instructions for what I want you to do and get out of the individual assignments but if you ever have any questions feel free to reach out! I write my instructions to try to meet everyone where they are but you all are unique in how you process information so never hesitate to ask me questions from simple to complex. Odds are I just haven't put it in a way that you connect with!
