Engaging Wonder

This years academy is centered around redirecting our focus on what keeps us and our students engaged in the work we do and how we might restore that connection after the past couple of years. In keeping with the theme, we have taken inspiration from the art of Kintsugi Links to an external site., a pottery tradition that emphasizes repair as celebration. During the pandemic it developed into a metaphor for how we may deal with the grief, stress, and disruption associated with COVID-19, and hopefully can be a frame for our path forward.

We are excited to announce that our academy will kick off on September 13th with a keynote presentation from Bonni Stachowiak!

Bonni has the privilege of speaking with exceptional educators as the host of the Teaching in Higher Ed podcast. Since 2014, her podcast has provided a space to explore the art and science of being more effective at facilitating learning. Bonni is the Dean of Teaching and Learning at Vanguard University. She is also a Professor of Business and Management. Teaching and learning are vital to her sense of purpose in life.
