Managing Notifications

Canvas includes settings that let you receive email updates about events that happen in your classes. Although the default Notification settings will work in most instances, you can change them to meet your particular needs. These settings only apply to you and are not used to control how course updates are sent to other students.

Setting up notifications

Task:

Watch the video below for a step by step walkthrough of how to set your Canvas notifications. Setting notifications for all devices happens through Canvas accessed from an internet browser and not the app. By default notifications will be sent to your Bigfoot email address. If you are haven't accessed your Bigfoot email yet check the Student Email Guide Links to an external site.. If you are having trouble accessing your email make sure to contact Community Colleges of Spokane IT @ itsupportcenter@ccs.spokane.edu or (509-533-4357).

You can open Canvas in a new tab or window.. Pop back and forth between the video and your own Canvas dashboard to practice.
