Purpose

To practice your presentation skills using PowerPoint timing, notetaking, and audio features.

Scenario

Your manager, Jamie Adrain, has asked you to complete some research on one of two topics: Becoming a more environmentally friendly office or improving office cybersecurity. You will create a PowerPoint presentation on your chosen topic.

Task

1. Watch Instructor Overview Video Links to an external site. for this week as I go over this assignment in detail. You can begin the video at 3 minutes and 20 seconds to go straight to the PowerPoint overview.

2. Decide if you'd like to complete a presentation on "Going Green," using the research from your chapter 7 memos or "Security" from chapter 8's security discussion. Remember that you have already completed research for these two topics. You will use the research you've already compiled for your presentation.

3. After you've decided, you will create a PowerPoint presentation with audio of your voice for each slide.

Presentation guidelines

Minimum 5 slides
- title (presentation title and your name)
- topics (minimum of 3)
- closing
- record your voice over each slide of your presentation

Using the tips provided in the chapter, you will plan, research, organize, and prepare a presentation.

Create a PowerPoint with audio to present your information.
Include any extra text in the Notes section of each slide (this will help you when recording your audio).
It should have a title slide that includes your presentation title, your name, and the name of this class.
Include photos, clip art, or other graphics appropriate to the topic.
Remember it is PowerPoint and not PowerSentences. In general, a PowerPoint should not be more than 7x7--meaning, seven words across and seven lines on a slide. Think of a PowerPoint as electronic index cards.
You do not have a maximum number, but you will have at least five--a title slide, 3 ideas, and a closing slide.
Research should be referenced. You can include a slide at the end with citation information, or you can include footnotes on each slide with appropriate citations. Website links are acceptable.
