Read:

When you write for a presentation, you use an outline and paragraph.  Your outline will be the information that you present in your PowerPoint.  The paragraph will be what you say when you show your PowerPoint to an audience.

After you organize your presentation ideas in an outline, you need to write a rough draft of your paragraph.  A rough draft is your first version of your writing.  You will make changes later.  When you have made all the changes, you write a final draft.  This is the version you give your teacher and use in your presentation.

Follow these steps:

  • Use your outline as a guide to write your paragraph.
  • Write an introduction that will get the audience's attention and tell the main idea or purpose of your presentation.
  • Write the body of your presentation.  The body of your presentation should give examples and details to support the main idea.
  • Write a conclusion.  Your conclusion should summarize the information you gave in your presentation.

When you are done writing, read your presentation.  Make corrections.  Make sure it is creative, interesting, and organized!
