What are imperatives?

Imperatives are used to directly tell someone to do something.

Imperatives are also called commands.

Imperatives DO NOT use subject pronouns such as I, you, he, she, we, they.

Example:

Verb (base form) + Object
Use  pictures in your presentation.
Make  an outline to organize your presentation

Negative Imperatives

To tell someone not to do something, add "don't" to the beginning of the sentence.

 

Don't (do+not) + Verb (base form) + Object
Don't forget to have good eye contact.
Don't write all the details on your slide.
Don't forget to practice.
Don't arrive late to your presentation.
