When you do not understand something, you can ask a question. This is called a clarifying question. Sometimes when you are talking with people, you do not hear a word. Sometimes you do not understand everything they say. When you need to hear the word or sentence again, you can use a clarifying question.
This is an important skill to use at work. If you want someone to say something again, or to clarify the meaning, use one of these phrases.
