Review regular past tense:
We use the simple past tense to talk about things that happened and finished in the past. This module is about the history of the United States. History is about the past, so we use simple past tense verbs to talk about history.
To make verbs past tense, you usually add -d or -ed to the end of the word. If the word ends in y, you sometimes replace the y with -ied.
