Punctuation:

Punctuation is used most often at the end of a sentence.  It can also be used in the middle of a sentence.  Punctuation tells us what kind of sentence we are reading.

  • A statement gives information and ends in a period.
  • A question asks information and ends in a question mark.
  • An exclamation is important or exciting information and ends in an exclamation mark.
  • A sentence that has extra information, combines two (2) sentences, or has a list of three (3) or more things uses a comma.
