Read:

Other verbs in the simple present tense do not change as much.  

In the affirmative form, we use the base verb with I, you, we, and they.  

We add an s to the verb when the subject is he, she, or it.  Sometimes the -s is -es or -ies. 

You only add the s to the affirmative form. You do not add s to the negative or question forms.

Verb + s Verb + es Verb + ies (drop the y)
say She says no. go She goes to the park. cry  She cries during movies.
get Mary gets a break. push He pushes the cart. fly The bird flies in the sky.
make John makes a cake. catch She catches the ball. try He tries hard.
know Mom knows best. teach He teaches the class. study She studies at night.
