Library Example Modules

Welcome Page

Welcome to the SFCC Librarian Canvas Modules Example Course

This course is designed to showcase examples of Canvas Modules created by SFCC Librarians to support research and information literacy instruction. Our goal is to provide instructors with a clear understanding of the type of content and instructional support librarians can offer within Canvas.

Examples of Librarian-Supported Content Include:

  • Informational pages on research strategies and resources

  • Instructional videos related to research skills

  • Simple methods for students to contact a librarian directly

Additionally, librarians are often asked to create assignments and quizzes tailored to research-focused learning outcomes.

Adding a Librarian to Your Canvas Course

We encourage instructors to consider adding a librarian to their Canvas courses using the "Librarian" role. Librarian permissions allow for:

  • Communication with students

  • Adding and editing pages and modules

  • Creating quizzes and assignments

If you have questions or would like to collaborate with a specific librarian, please refer to the contact information and subject-specific librarian directory below.
