Recognize and correctly use basic art vocabulary in verbal and written form.
Demonstrate this skill by completing the discussion for the week. We will be looking at a work of art and discussing the visual/artistic elements found within it. Please use terminology you find in the reading material and videos to describe the work.
Secondly, you will again be asked to develop and employ methods for analyzing visual art forms and interpreting their meaning. Last week we began discussing the visual/artistic element of color. This week we will look at color, line, shape, value, space, and texture. Use these terms when approaching and critiquing a new work of art. This is considered the beginning of a formalistic critique and covers the first level of meaning. The first level of meaning is form.
Lastly, this week you will be asked to begin the photography assignment. You will need to include the visual/artistic elements into your own photographs.
