Using the Talking Drum to Send Warnings

 

 

In my interview with Henry, a master drummer living in Ife, he talks about using the talking drum to warn patrons and shopowners in the marketplace when a procession of dancers and worshippers of the god of iron approach. The dancers can dance anyway they want and can damage anything in the marketplace without being held responsible.
