Organizing the Slides for the Power Point Presentation

You will design a Power Point* Presentation using 8 slides, all of which have specific criteria outlined in the pages that follow. Think of this as a research project, because you will need to conduct research about your artist (or band's) music, background, social message, and so forth.

Objectives:

1. to demonstrate an understanding of the what musical elements or instrumentation characterize a particular genre of music, such as hip hop, classical or rock.

2. to demonstrate an understanding of how a band or musical artist are influenced by other musicians.

3. to demonstrate an understanding of the connection between an artist or band and the social message which is conveyed.

*NOTE: If you have not used Power Point before, it is fairly easy to learn and put together a presentation. There are many tutorials for using Power Point that are available online. Just do a browser search to find one. Give yourself plenty of time in advance to learn the program and to complete the project.
