Week Six Discussion- Visual Similarities

Find the visual similarities in two separate works of art. The first work will be Anish Kapoor's sculpture Cloud Gate Links to an external site. in Chicago Illinois built in 2006. The second work is a work of architecture called Sainte-Chapelle Links to an external site.. It was built between 1242-1248 in Paris France. 

Using 350 words or more, discuss three similar visual elements and/or design principles found in both Cloud Gate and Sainte-Chapelle. Consider and discuss the function, content, time period, and cultures when discussing this week's art. Most importantly, why/how are they using similar visual elements/or design principles? Post your thoughts into this discussion. 

Look carefully at the reading and viewing material for week six. Please review The Elements and Principles of Visual Language-1 and The Elements and Principles of Visual Language-2. Specific information about the works can be found on the internet. Please cite any information when needed. If it is not common knowledge, you will need to cite it. Your own opinions are interesting and refreshing. Use your own thoughts. Please use all that you have gained throughout the quarter in evaluating the work.

*note- Artworks need to be capitalized and italicized. However, buildings and monuments need only to be capitalized.
