Purpose:
Developing a learning environment for all of our students is key to student success. Ally's tools make it easier for us to identify areas in our course that could become more accessible. The goal of this module is to give you an opportunity to learn some of the tools in Ally in order to improve the accessibility of your course. This assignment aligns with our module objectives: 1. Investigate the Ally Course Report and 2. Improve the accessibility of your course.
Task:
Review the Ally Course Report that is in your course navigation on the left side of Canvas. Take a screenshot of the accessibility score in your course prior to making any changes with the Ally tool. The goal of this assignment is to improve the accessibility score of your course. Then use the tools in Ally to increase the accessibility score in your course.
You will submit two screenshots. One being your initial accessibility score and two being your improved accessibility score. Everyone faculty member who submits will qualify for a $25 stipend, and the person who has the greatest improvements will receive a fantastic prize in recognition of all of their hard accessibility work. I challenge you!
Criteria:
You will know you are successful in this assignment when you submit two screenshots, a before and after, of your Ally Course Report Score.
Example of the score for this course is below:
eLearning will also compete in this challenge. A 66% accessibility rating is just way to low. Our goal is to hit 80% by the end of the month.
