Browser Blues-2
Can't see Content in Canvas?
Here is how you can give permission to "unblock" the content
Web browsers, like FireFox and Chrome, have increased their security settings and so may now block access to web content in Canvas. You'll find out soon because much of this 'START HERE' module is made up of webpages from the SCC site. If they don't open properly, or just remain blank, you can give permission to your web browser to allow the content to be seen in Canvas. The content is not actually 'insecure', the browsers just don't like connecting to it through Canvas.
Here's how to overcome this challenge:
Chrome
In Chrome, you can allow access by clicking on the shield icon in the right side of the search bar. Choose “load unsafe script" (or content) and the information will load on the screen in Canvas.
Firefox
The icon is on the left of the search bar. Click on right-facing arrow and then the "Disable Protection for Now" button.
Internet Explorer
In Internet Explorer it will be a yellow band asking you to ALLOW to display content and you can choose allow. I would advise against using IE and advise students to download FireFox or Chrome.
Please ask me if you have additional questions.
