Improving Course Communication - Module Overview

Welcome to the first Professional Development Module for Fall 2016! This month's topic is Improving Course Communication. We will look at and practice using a variety of communication tools to help engage your students, create opportunities for real-time online office hours, and make sure you are notified when students have questions. 

Objectives for this month are:

1. Improve instructor-student communication
2. Evaluate and practice synchronous and asynchronous communication tools for your course

Requirements

In order to receive the $25 stipend for this module you must complete the following:

1. Initial discussion on your current communication uses
2. Practice with a synchronous communication tool
3. Demonstrate use of synchronous communication
4. Final discussion to reflect on what you have learned
