Speech to Text Software

Definition:

Software that processes speech into text format in real time, allowing for the transfer of verbal words into text.

Purpose:

To remove barriers that would challenge or impede in the process of typing, writing, or otherwise committing thoughts and answers to text formats.

Responsibilities:

The Student: Maintain and bring your software where needed. Meet with DAS for access and training you may need on relevant technology as well as for any difficulties you may have.

The Instructor: Allow student to use speech to text in class, if needed for assignments.

DAS: Where needed, provide access to and training for speech to text software. Work with and trouble shoot with Instructor and student should problems arise.

How to use this accommodation:

Prepare or bring technology to any class or situation where written format is required.

If relevant, schedule and attend a technology demo to get established on any programs and devices you may need.
