Instructions for Completing Module 1

Note: All the modules for the course along with the files contained therein are arranged sequentially. You can work through a module by working on each file one-by-one as it appears in order. The instructions for what to read, assessments and so forth will be included as you go. Always make note of due dates for graded assessments so you can organize your time accordingly. Due dates will appear in both the Modules page and the Calendar.
1. Read through the folder called About Your Instructor.
2. Complete Discussion Forum Assignment 1 (DF1). Check the Calendar for the due date for this assignment.
3. Read through the syllabus completely and thoroughly. It is located in the far left column of his page. They syllabus is one of your most important resources for the course. There is a file for instructions on how to do that. It is located under Module 1.
4. Check the Announcements area of the course. It is located in the far left column of this page. Here you will find announcements that I will send out at different times during the course.
5. Browse through the remainder of the folders and understand how the course is organized using modules.
Note the number of modules for the course. Hence, there are due dates for completing all assignments, quizzes and exams for each module as well as a closing dates for the modules. Open your Calendar in Canvas to see what assignments are due on what days as well as when modules open and close. Most quizzes within a given module can be taken anytime while the module is open. Some assignments have specific due dates. Make note of those.
6. Read through the folders called Canvas Student Orientation and the one called Other Useful Information.
7. Once you feel you are familiar with how the course is designed in Canvas and what your responsibilities are as a student taking the course, take the Module 1 Exam. You will find it toward the bottom of all the files listed under Module 1. You can also take the extra credit quiz as well.
