email bill.heinz@scc.spokane.edu to have an account made for your student. It is also possible for you to add your own students, either by using my account or by making your own Teacher account and specific language classrooms.

My account is username bill.heinz@scc.spokane.edu

The password is Esl123!

I add students to the proper language (L1) class without email, then reset their passwords all to be Esl123! If a student already has an email, they can be added to the classes with the appropriate link from this page:  /courses/1410066/files/77196692/download?verifier=MJgPlEx6ZkAunM2YaMWlONxNQ4BtS0nv3PqkayWb&wrap=1

Incomplete language packages are available at https://incubator.duolingo.com/ Links to an external site.

IN ORDER TO COMPLETE SOME LESSONS, you will need to add different input languages. I have made an instruction page for doing so.  Download Enable On-Screen Keyboard and add keyboard languages.docx

Enabling the onscreen keyboard makes it easy for students to enter text in their own languages.

I have also made a registry file for adding the appropriate languages automatically.  Download keyboards.reg

Download this file and double-click. It should ask you if you want to add this information to the registry. If you say yes, then reboot, your computer will have those languages available through the language bar. To bring up the on screen keyboard, you can click start and type osk. It is a good idea to have a shortcut to the on screen keyboard in a folder for your duolingo students.

Also, you should know that duolingo is available for android and iphone. Many of our students lack computers or internet at home or both. But nearly all have cellphones with data plans. I recommend installing duolingo and google translate app, and help them download the offline file for their language.
