Welcome to Social Media Marketing Online!
My name is Melissa Barker, your instructor for this course. I am very excited to work with you this quarter!

First thing you need to do is to order the textbook immediately as we will cover every chapter of the textbook. The good news is that the publisher provided the first four chapters of the textbook for you to use while you are waiting for financial aid to purchase the textbook (these files are listed in Week One and Week Two modules). But you do need to get the book as soon as possible because you will need to have the book starting Week Three.
-
Not having the textbook is not an excuse for not completing work on time - I have placed a copy of the textbook at SFCC on reserve for you to use in the Library.
- Be sure to complete all the work on time. There is a 10% penalty for each day that you are late in submitting your work.
-
There are a total of ten weeks; each week or Module starts on Monday. The 1st assignment is due Thursday Night and 2nd assignment is due Sunday Night. There is also a weekly quiz that is due Sunday Night.

If this is your first online course, it is important that you set up a schedule for yourself so that you will not fall behind.
- If you have questions, please post it in "Ask Instructor Questions". Remember, there are no dumb questions; the only dumb question is the one that wasn't asked! If you have a question, chances are your peers may have the same question, so please ask!
-
For personal issues, please email me - do not post personal issues or test questions in "Ask Instructor Questions" discussion forum.
- Online learning provides the flexibility to work at your own pace. You are welcome to complete course materials ahead of schedule. Indeed, I encourage you to work ahead. Sunday nights tend to be busy, hence, the Canvas cloud may bog down or even crash. Finishing your week's material before Sunday night will help you avoid these types of problems.
Now let's get started by click on the on the lower right corner "Next - Syllabus".
I look forward to working with you this quarter. Have fun learning!
