Allowing Students to Download Your Videos
Why Do It?
Providing students the ability to download your videos can allow them to view these videos offline. Rural students, those with poor wifi at home, or those who want to need to conserve their mobile data can all benefit from this option. Reducing this barrier could allow these students to view your lectures when it works best for them, rather than only when they are connected to the internet.
How To Do IT
This guide shows you the current steps for allowing students to download your videos:

What To Consider
By allowing students to download your videos, you are allowing students to keep a copy on their computer. As opposed to streaming on Panopto or YouTube, where the students don't have the digital copy. For those concerned with copyright, I wouldn't recommend these steps. For those concerned with what a student could do with your video, I'd place a disclaimer for appropriate use for students. Let them know that reposting on the internet is not allowed, nor is manipulating the video allowed. Consider using a CC License Links to an external site. to inform viewers of the usability of the videos.
