Overview:
We can often connect a student's engagement in a course's learning material with their performance in the class. One of faculty's biggest concerns is when students don't work through lectures or readings in a course. Often this is magnified in an online class where a student's daily attendance isn't required. Encouraging and engaging students to work through course materials can be vital to achieve higher success rates. We don't want to handhold everyone, however, there are tricks and evidence based strategies to improve student's lecture viewership. These strategies we can often apply to reading material as well.
