Faculty and Student Testimonial
SFCC's Jared Anthony shared a wonderful testimonial Download wonderful testimonial discussing his experiences with Quality Matters. Some of the highlights of his well written testimonial include the following excerpts:
I heartily recommend these workshops (and QM in general) because I’m convinced they helped me make my courses more accessible, navigable, and useful.....
When I started using the newly redesigned courses, I immediately noticed a decrease in questions from students. The additional information I was providing, as well as the predictable structure I was using to provide it, was helping students better understand what I was looking for in their work and helping them find whatever they might be looking for along the way to doing that work. I also quickly noticed that I was feeling like the ice beneath my feet had thickened. When a student did have a question or submitted work that indicated some confusion, I could point them to specific sections of specific pages for clarification.
For more testimonials from across the state, faculty from Clark College had this to say about their experiences with Quality Matters:
- “Since applying the QM rubric, my students know what is expected of them and my classes run more smoothly. The QM rubric is an organized way to approach course design that puts the students and their learning outcomes first. I have become a better instructor because of QM's central focus of aligning outcomes with learning activities and assessments. Our instructional designers at Clark really know how to reach students and have been phenomenal mentors to me and my colleagues.” (Ericha Clare, QM-Recognized 2011)
- “Learning how to apply the QM rubric helped me think about my course from a student's perspective. I improved the design of my course and linked the course activities and assessments more closely with the learning objectives. QM helped me make my course more consistent and approachable.” (Alexis Nelson, English Composition Faculty, APPQMR completion)
